To contribute
Most people use this infinitive when referring to money. People want to donate money to various causes that are important to them in life.
רוֹב הָאֲנָשִׁים מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל הַזֶּה כַּאֲשֶׁר מְדוּבָּר עַל כֶּסֶף. אֲנָשִׁים רוֹצִים לִ תְרוֹם כֶּסֶף לְכָל מִינֵי מַטָּרוֹת שֶׁחֲשׁוּבוֹת לָהֶם בַּחַיִּים.
However, we can use this infinitive not only when talking about money.
אֲבָל אֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל הַזֶּה לֹא רַק כְּשֶׁמְּדוּבָּר עַל כֶּסֶף.
For example: If there is a party, and many things need to be arranged before the guests arrive, and I want to help, I would ask the organizers: "How can I contribute?"
לְמָשָׁל: אִם יֵשׁ מְסִיבָּה וְצָרִיךְ לְסַדֵּר הַרְבֵּה דְּבָרִים לִפְנֵי שֶׁהָאוֹרְחִים מַגִּיעִים וַאֲנִי רוֹצָה לַעֲזוֹר, אֲנִי אֶשְׁאַל אֶת מְאַרְגְּנֵי הַמְּסִיבָּה: "אֵיךְ אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לִתְרוֹם?"
In modern times, we think about many ways to contribute to our personal or professional development.
בַּזְּמַנִּים הַמּוֹדֶרְנִיִּים אֲנַחְנוּ חוֹשְׁבִים עַל כָּל מִינֵי דְּבָרִים שֶׁיְּכוֹלִים לִתְרוֹם לַהִתְפַּתְּחוּת הָאִישִׁית אוֹ הַמִּקְצוֹעִית שֶׁלָּנוּ.
Here are some sentences using the infinitive "to contribute\donate":
הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם שֵׁם הַפֹּעַל 'לִתְרוֹם':
1. To help those in need, one can donate old clothes that are in good condition, and before winter, one can donate warm blankets.
