Shower
The miklahat(shower) is the room where we wash ourselves. The root of the word is ק.ל.ח, and the infinitive is lehitkale’ach(to shower). You can also say lehitraḥetz (to bathe). And if we want to wash our hair, we say lachof et hasse’ar.
הַמִּקְלַחַת הִיאהַחֶדֶר שֶׁבּוֹ אֲנַחְנוּ מִתְרַחֲצִים.
שׁוֹרֶשׁ הַמִּילָּה ק.ל.ח וְשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל לְהִתְקַלֵּחַ.
אֶפְשָׁר לְהַגִּיד גַּם לְהִתְרַחֵץ.
וְאִם אֲנַחְנוּ רוֹצִים לִרְחוֹץ אֶת הַשֵּׂיעָר אֲנַחְנוּ אוֹמְרִים "לַחֲפוֹף אֶת הַשֵּׂיעָר".
Some homes have a bathtub in the bathroom, but in most homes there is a shower stall. In a bathtub, we can sit and soak ourselves in water, while in a shower stall we stand and shower as the water flows from above.
יֵשׁ בָּתִּים שֶׁיֵּשׁ בַּחֲדַר הַמִּקְלַחַת אַמְבַּטְיָה וּבְרוֹב הַבָּתִּים יֵשׁ מִקְלָחוֹן. בָּאַמְבַּטְיָה אֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לָשֶׁבֶת וְלִטְבּ וֹל אֶת עַצְמֵנוּ בְּמַיִם וּבְמִקְלָחוֹן אֲנַחְנוּ עוֹמְדִים וּמִתְקַלְּחִים כַּאֲשֶׁר הַמַּיִם זוֹרְמִים מִלְּמַעֲלָה.
My mother told me that when she was a little girl in Romania, they didn’t have a shower in the house and there was no running water. They had a large barrel and would bring water from the well, heat it, and pour it into the barrel. At the bottom of the barrel there was a hole, and after someone finished showering, they would open it to drain the water so the next person could shower…

1. There’s nothing like a quick shower in the morning to wash off the remnants of the night's sleep and leave feeling alert and energized for a day full of activity.
