Like a glove (to the hand)
We use this expression when we want to say that something suits me very well.
אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ רוֹצִים לְהַגִּיד שֶׁמַּשֶּׁהוּ מַתְאִים לִי מְאוֹד.
When we put on a glove, each finger has a place, and the entire palm is covered.
כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ עוֹטִים כְּפָפָה, לְכָל אֶצְבַּע יֵשׁ מָקוֹם וְכַף הַיָּד עֲטוּפָה כּוּלָּהּ.
If it's cold, I can wear wool gloves, and if I'm working with various chemicals, I can wear vinyl gloves.
אִם קַר אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לַעֲטוֹת כְּפָפוֹת צֶמֶר וְאִם אֲנִי עוֹבֶדֶת עִם חֳמָרִים כִימִיִּים שׁוֹנִים אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לַעֲטוֹת כְּפָפוֹת וִינִיל.
So just as a glove covers the entire hand and serves the purpose for which we put it on, this expression means that what we're talking about suits us very well.
For example: a Hebrew course at Miss Mali's fits me like a glove.
אָז כְּמוֹ שֶׁהַכְּפָפָה מְכַסָּה אֶת כָּל הַיָּד וּמְשַׁמֶּשֶׁת לַמַּטָּרָה שֶׁבִּגְלָלָהּ עָטִינוּ אוֹתָהּ, כָּךְ הַבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה רוֹצֶה לוֹמַר שֶׁמָּה שֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מְדַבְּרִים עָלָיו מַתְאִים לָנוּ מְאוֹד.
