To get in trouble
If my son does not do what I asked, he might get into trouble with me.
אִם הַבֵּן שֶׁלִּי לֹא יַעֲשֶׂה אֶת מָה שֶׁבִּקַּשְׁתִּי הוּא עָלוּל לְהִסְתַּבֵּךְ אִיתִּי.
If you hang around suspicious people, you might get into trouble and even get into trouble with the police.
אִם אַתָּה מִסְתּוֹבֵב עִם אֲנָשִׁים מְפוּקְפָּקִים אַתָּה עָלוּל לְהִסְתַּבֵּךְ בְּצָרוֹת וַאֲפִילּוּ לְהִסְתַּבֵּךְ עִם הַמִּשְׁטָרָה.
If he does not study throughout the year, he might get into trouble when the exam comes.
אִם הוּא לֹא יִלְמַד בְּמֶשֶׁךְ הַשָּׁנָה, הוּא עָלוּל לְהִסְתַּבֵּךְ כְּשֶׁיַּגִּי עַ הַמִּבְחָן.
Sometimes, people who fear getting into trouble avoid doing things, and especially avoid pursuing their dreams. Meanwhile, there are others who do not fear getting into trouble—they are not afraid of anything, and if they end up getting into trouble, they find a solution and move forward. Sometimes, they simply continue getting into trouble.
