עָשָׂה לֵילוֹת כְּיָמִים

He did nights as days
We use this expression when we want to say that someone has worked very hard on something and invested a lot of time in it.
אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ רוֹצִים לְהַגִּיד שֶׁמִּישֶׁהוּ עָבַד מְאוֹד קָשֶׁה עַל מַשֶּׁהוּ וְהִשְׁקִיעַ בּוֹ הַרְבֵּה זְמַן.
Usually during the day, we are active, that is: working or studying, each with their own activity, and at night we sleep.
בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל בַּיָּמִים אֲנַחְנוּ פְּעִילִים, כְּלוֹמַר: עוֹבְדִים אוֹ לוֹמְדִים, כָּל אֶחָד וְהַפְּעִילוּת שֶׁלּוֹ, וּבַלֵּילוֹת אֲנַחְנוּ יְשֵׁנִים.
Someone who makes their nights like days, that means that they are active at night and do not sleep.
מִי שֶׁעוֹשֶׂה לֵילוֹתָיו כְּיָמִים, זֶה אוֹמֵר שֶׁהוּא פָּעִיל גַּם בַּלֵּילוֹת וְלֹא יָשֵׁן.
Well, of course this does not make sense and the meaning is not literal.
It is about intensive work and investing a lot of time.
טוֹב, זֶה כַּמּוּבָן לֹא הֶגְיוֹנִי וְאֵין הַמַּשְׁמָעוּת הִיא מִילּוּלִית.
מְדוּבָּר עַל עֲבוֹדָה אִינְטֶנְסִיבִית וְהַשְׁקָעַת זְמַן רַבָּה.
